Do you recognise this lost dog? When we had no response to our adverts for this beautiful senior lost dog whom we named Rufus, we put him up for adoption. We are delighted to inform our supporters that Rufus has found an outstanding home in West Beach with a delightful family. He made a bee line for the swimming pool showing us that he is a water dog who probably never had the opportunity to cool off in a swimming pool. It was also love at first sight with the new owner's senior Bassett Hound female who started behaving like a teenager in love with Rufus. <!--[if gte mso 9]> <![endif]--><!--[if gte mso 9]> <![endif]-->

RUFUS (not his original name), a senior retriever dog with a grey face was found lying in the middle of a road in Plumstead on 11 December 2017. All the gates of nearby houses were securely locked. It was a hot day and he had no water.  Other passers bye said they had often seen him locked out in the street   What a shame that this old dog was not treated with more respect. He is not wearing a collar with an ID tag and he is not microchipped. He also has quite a bad flea allergy on his back.  We have treated him for fleas and have de-wormed him because he undoubtedly has tape worm from the fleas. He is soft natured and is clearly missing his home.although his face is grey, his teeth are in good condition.   If you recognise him, please phone Adopt-a-Pet on 021 465-4560: 19h00 - 20h30
