It is my pleasure to talk about Aleida and Ellen differently as they are
very opposite little guys except that they both love walks and treats!
She is the bigger one with the spot on her rear end and her nickname is
Stompa because she is stocky and has short legs. She was named after Ellen
Sirleaf Johnson (first female president of an African country), because when
she was small she had a very proud and distinguished manner about her, very
much like her namesake. She is my little baby, she loves a cuddle and can
often be found sitting against me chewing a hoof, bone or piece of wood. She
literally will chew on anything!
She is the smaller one and her nickname is Skolla. This is because when she
was smaller she looked like a guy I played soccer with whose nickname was
Skolla, and as she has aged she also acts like him! She is usually the one
getting up to mischief, whether it be digging holes where she shouldn’t or
jumping on her sister when she isn’t expecting it. I named her after
Aleida March (Che Guevara’s second wife) because like her namesake she is a
tough little fighter considering that she was the runt of the litter. She
loves to jump on things and run, and she literally gets around by either
sprinting or jumping!!!
The two of them have had a far more profound change on me than I initially
expected. They have an unbelievable calming influence on me, after a tough
and stressful day at the office the happiness these two show me (with Ellen
licking my hands and Aleida repeatedly jumping on and off my lap) when I get
home simply washes away all that. My biggest concern is asking my parents
to puppy sit them when I am away for work, because I suspect that they like
the pups more than they like me!!!
